Anthroposophic Medicine

Modern anthroposophy was founded by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) as a spiritual science that looks into the immaterial in man and nature in a scientific way similar to the way natural science looks into the material. Just like the plant, man shows the typical qualities of life, such as growth, selfhealing or reproduction. After death these qualities disappear, the body dissolves into its mineral components. While an organism is alive, this dissolution is constantly being prevented by the activity of specific life forces thus bringing about the very opposite: highly complex physical and temporal structures.
However, unlike the plant man is not only alive but moreover has self-awareness based on yet another type of forces, his soul forces. Only a soul-filled being experiences sensations such as pleasure, pain, joy, desire and is able to express them by way of wilful movements.
Anthroposophic medicine is based on a regular medical training and works with regular scientific methods which are then complemented by aspects of spiritual science. Thus it contributes to a modern, integrated wholistic medicine in teaching, research and practice.
In the following subdivisions of the KIKOM research projects have been conducted for many years:

  • Fundamental research, homoeopathy, and anthroposophic medicine
  • Clinical research
  • Research in Arts Therapy and Chronobiology
